General information for a vacation in Spain

Tourists from other European countries do not have to change their habits too much to get along fine in Spain. Remember in Andalusia things move a bit slow so leave your stress at home. "No stress" is the mission statement here. Most of the shops open from 10 am to 10pm with siesta break from 2pm to 5pm.

Form of payment is the Euro, electrical devices run on 220 Volt and 50Hz and there are bank machines even in the villages. Fuel is cheaper than in other parts of Europe. Diesel about 70 cents and Super about 88 cents.
When paying in a restaurant it is customary to add 5% to 10% gratuity to your bill depending on the service.

Surf equipment and other items on your roof rack should be secured with a lock while you travel to Andalusia, but once you arrive you will find this a very safe town. Crime and theft are very infrequent in Tarifa.
